Talent of the month: Sam Clemmett

18:37

Until a few months ago, I never really payed attention to actors. I mean, yes, they're good, but I didn't have a favorite actor. And then came Sam Clemmett.

Sam plays the role of Albus Severus Potter in Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. And let me tell you one thing: the man is absolutely brillant.

Albus is the character i'm closest to in this play, and probably one of my favorite characters, period. So, when I finally got tickets for the play, the wait was nerve-wracking. I  knew Sam was a good actor from things I read online. But in the past I have been disappointed in the interpretation of some of my absolute favorite characters, so obviously, I was a bit wary.  And then Sam was on stage.

I remember my first thought being "wow, he's brillant". And by the end of part one, I just couldn't wait to meet him and tell him just that. For five hours, Sam shows us a palette of emotions, and drags us into them with him. Even when Albus is just in the background of a scene, he makes us feel what he feels just with his facial expressions, and that is not something I saw a lot before.

A huge plus is that Sam is always great with the fans. He takes time every nights to sign autographs, and talk with people who just saw the play.

In Sam Clemmett, we got the best Albus we could have hoped for, and, to me, 2016 best revelation. I can't wait to see what's in store for him.
